Staying at The Ibiza Twiins? Our Local Guide to Playa d’en Bossa & Ibiza Town
Staying at The Ibiza Twiins in Playa d’en Bossa? You're in a fantastic position to explore Ibiza Town, discover some of the island's best restaurants, enjoy beautiful beaches and experience Ibiza's famous nightlife.
But one of the things we particularly like about this location is that you don't have to travel far to experience completely different sides of Ibiza.
You can wake up beside the Mediterranean, take a boat into Ibiza Town, wander through the historic streets of Dalt Vila, have lunch overlooking the marina and still be back at your hotel for an afternoon beside the pool.
We've lived and worked in Ibiza for many years, and our team at Massage Beach Ibiza has provided massage and beauty treatments at The Ibiza Twiins for many seasons.
Over the years, we've shared plenty of recommendations with guests looking for places to eat, beaches to visit and things to do during their holidays.
So rather than another generic Ibiza travel guide, these are the places and experiences we'd genuinely recommend to friends staying at The Ibiza Twiins.
Is The Ibiza Twiins a Good Location for Exploring Ibiza?
Absolutely. In fact, its location is one of the hotel's biggest advantages.
The Ibiza Twiins sits directly beside the beach at the Ibiza Town end of Playa d’en Bossa.
You're only a short journey from Ibiza Town, approximately ten minutes from the airport by car, and within easy reach of Ses Salines, Marina Botafoch and Talamanca.
If nightlife is part of your holiday, Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa are further along Playa d’en Bossa.
But you certainly don't need to spend every evening in a nightclub.
There are excellent restaurants, beautiful coastal walks, historic streets and plenty of opportunities to enjoy a more relaxed side of Ibiza.
Our advice would be to explore a little, but also leave time to enjoy the hotel itself.
After all, you're on holiday.
Take the Boat from The Ibiza Twiins to Ibiza Town
This is one of the first things we'd recommend to anyone staying at the hotel.
During the tourist season, the City Boat operates between Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town, with a stop on the seafront promenade behind The Ibiza Twiins.
It's a lovely alternative to taking a taxi.
Rather than sitting in traffic, you can enjoy views along the coastline and across the harbour as you approach Ibiza Town.
It's particularly enjoyable on a sunny morning when the sea is calm.
Once you arrive, you're perfectly placed to explore the port, browse the shops or head towards Dalt Vila.
Our tip: Check the return timetable before setting off, especially if you're planning to stay in Ibiza Town for dinner.
Boat services are seasonal and departure times can change.
You can find more information on the City Boat Ibiza website.
Explore Dalt Vila, Ibiza's Historic Old Town
If there's one place we'd encourage every first-time visitor to explore, it's Dalt Vila.
Ibiza's historic fortified old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it's one of the most beautiful parts of the island.
You'll find narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings, little shops, restaurants and centuries-old stone walls.
But here's our advice:
Don't just wander around the bottom of the old town. Walk all the way to the top.
The climb is worth it.
From the upper fortifications, you'll enjoy wonderful views across Ibiza Town, the harbour, Marina Botafoch and the Mediterranean.
There are plenty of places to stop for a drink along the way, so there's no need to rush.
We particularly enjoy visiting later in the afternoon when the temperature starts to drop and the streets begin filling with people heading out for dinner.
And one practical tip: wear comfortable shoes.
Those beautiful old cobbled streets aren't particularly forgiving if you're wearing slippery flip-flops.
Our Favourite Restaurants in Ibiza Town
Ibiza Town has an enormous choice of restaurants.
Rather than recommending twenty places, we'd suggest starting with these three.
La Bodega for Tapas
Located near the entrance to Dalt Vila, La Bodega is a great choice for tapas and a lively atmosphere.
It's somewhere we'd recommend for sharing a selection of Spanish dishes, enjoying a few drinks and watching the evening unfold.
Think croquetas, tortilla, patatas bravas, manchego and plenty of other dishes to share.
It's particularly convenient if you're planning to explore Dalt Vila before or after dinner.
La Oliva for a Special Dinner
If you'd like dinner in the heart of Dalt Vila, La Oliva is a lovely option.
The restaurant sits among the historic streets, and its terrace is a big part of the experience.
It's somewhere we'd choose for a relaxed evening when the setting matters just as much as the food.
Walk through Dalt Vila first, stop for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere before sitting down for dinner.
La Llotja for Seafood and Mediterranean Food
Another restaurant we'd consider is La Llotja, around Ibiza's port.
It's a good option if you enjoy fish, seafood and traditional Mediterranean dishes.
We particularly like the idea of combining dinner here with an evening exploring the harbour.
Have Breakfast Overlooking the Marina at Cappuccino
If you fancy doing something a little special one morning, head over to Cappuccino Grand Café at Marina Ibiza.
It's not where we'd send you for the cheapest breakfast of your holiday.
You go for the setting.
The terrace overlooks the marina, with beautiful views across the water towards Dalt Vila.
Order breakfast, enjoy a proper coffee and watch the boats coming and going.
It's a lovely way to start the day, particularly if you're planning to explore Marina Botafoch or Talamanca afterwards.
Explore Marina Botafoch and Talamanca
Ibiza Town isn't just Dalt Vila and the old port.
Across the harbour you'll find Marina Botafoch, where the atmosphere is completely different.
This is modern Ibiza, with luxury yachts, waterfront restaurants, boutiques and beautiful views back towards the old town.
From there, you can continue towards Talamanca.
Talamanca has a long sandy beach and a more relaxed atmosphere than some of Ibiza's busier resort areas.
It's a nice option for spending a few hours exploring somewhere different without travelling to the other side of the island.
Depending on the time of year, small passenger boats also operate around Ibiza harbour.
It's worth checking whether you can combine your visit with a boat journey.
Spend a Day at Ses Salines Beach
If you're staying at The Ibiza Twiins and want to explore another beach, we'd definitely recommend Ses Salines.
Located within Ses Salines Natural Park, it's one of Ibiza's most recognisable beaches.
The setting is beautiful, with pine trees, protected dunes and clear Mediterranean water.
During the summer, the atmosphere can be lively, but that's part of its appeal.
We'd recommend arriving earlier in the day, particularly during July and August.
There are also two beach restaurants we'd suggest considering.
Jockey Club Ibiza
If you're looking for a proper Mediterranean lunch with good service and a lively beach atmosphere, Jockey Club is a great option.
It's somewhere we'd choose when lunch is going to be one of the main events of the day.
Sa Trinxa
For something more informal, walk further along the beach to Sa Trinxa.
It has a relaxed, slightly bohemian Ibiza atmosphere, with music, Mediterranean food and a wonderful beachfront setting.
It's a different experience from Jockey Club, but both are worth considering.
Look Out for Flamingos in the Salt Flats
Something many visitors don't realise is that Ses Salines Natural Park is also home to flamingos.
You may spot them in the salt flats while travelling through the area.
They're wild birds, so sightings aren't guaranteed, but it's worth keeping an eye out.
Please enjoy them from a distance and respect the protected environment.
It's a lovely reminder that Ibiza has much more to offer than beaches and nightlife.
Playa d’en Bossa Nightlife and Cocktails
We couldn't write a guide to The Ibiza Twiins without mentioning nightlife.
Many guests choose Playa d’en Bossa precisely because they want to be close to some of Ibiza's most famous clubs.
Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa are both located further along Playa d’en Bossa.
We're not going to recommend particular club nights because line-ups change every season, and musical tastes are personal.
If you're visiting Ibiza for a particular DJ or event, we'd recommend checking the official club calendars before travelling.
Where Can You Have Cocktails Near The Ibiza Twiins?
You don't necessarily need to leave the hotel.
The Ibiza Twiins has its own bars serving cocktails, making it an easy place to start your evening.
It's particularly convenient if some of your group are planning to go clubbing while others would prefer a more relaxed night.
You can also explore the bars and restaurants further along Playa d’en Bossa.
Our advice would be to enjoy the evening at your own pace.
Not every night needs to finish at sunrise.
Although, of course, this is Ibiza!
Stop at Alma Café for Coffee and Something Sweet
Not every recommendation needs to involve a fancy restaurant or expensive beach club.
Sometimes you just want a good coffee and a piece of cake.
Alma Café, close to The Ibiza Twiins, is one of our favourite little stops in the area.
It's somewhere we'd consider when we fancy something sweet or simply want to leave the hotel for a short while.
A nice alternative to another big excursion.
And sometimes a really good piece of cake is exactly what a holiday needs.
Enjoy The Ibiza Twiins Itself
One thing we don't want this guide to do is make you feel you need to spend your entire holiday somewhere else.
You don't.
The Ibiza Twiins is directly beside the Mediterranean and has a large pool area, restaurants, bars and entertainment.
Make the most of it.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
Spend a morning beside the pool.
Walk onto the beach.
Have lunch at the hotel.
Order a cocktail.
And don't feel guilty about doing absolutely nothing for a few hours.
Some of the best holiday memories happen when you abandon your plans and simply enjoy where you are.
Watch the Sunrise Over Playa d’en Bossa
Ibiza gets a lot of attention for its west-coast sunsets.
But Playa d’en Bossa is on the eastern side of the island, making it a lovely place to watch the sunrise.
If you're an early riser, we'd recommend heading outside while the hotel is still quiet.
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and watch the sun come up over the Mediterranean.
And if you've been out enjoying Ibiza's nightlife, there's always the possibility you'll see sunrise for an entirely different reason.
Either way, it counts!
Visit Formentera for the Day
If you've never visited Formentera, we'd definitely recommend considering a day trip.
This beautiful neighbouring island is famous for its turquoise water, sandy beaches and relaxed atmosphere.
Most visitors travel from Ibiza Town's main ferry port, where there are regular services.
However, seasonal tourist ferries also operate from Playa d’en Bossa and Figueretas.
That can make visiting Formentera particularly convenient when you're staying at The Ibiza Twiins.
Check the available routes and departure times before making plans, as services vary throughout the season.
If possible, give Formentera a full day.
It's far too beautiful to rush.
Try Patchwork for a Special Evening
If you enjoy Lebanese food, Patchwork at Sa Punta is somewhere we'd recommend considering.
Located on a rooftop in Talamanca, it offers colourful surroundings, cocktails and views across the water towards Dalt Vila.
It's a lovely choice for a special evening, particularly if you're celebrating something during your holiday.
We'd recommend checking seasonal opening dates and booking ahead during the summer.
Explore Santa Gertrudis if You've Hired a Car
If you've rented a car, we'd recommend spending an evening somewhere away from the coast.
Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera is one of our favourite villages on the island.
It's a charming place with a central square, little shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants.
The atmosphere is completely different from Playa d’en Bossa.
For dinner, we particularly like Macao Café.
It's a relaxed Italian restaurant known for its pasta and pizza, and somewhere we'd consider for a leisurely evening.
It's a lovely way to experience another side of Ibiza.
Enjoy a Massage or Beauty Treatment at The Ibiza Twiins
After exploring Ibiza Town, spending a day at Ses Salines or enjoying a late night in Playa d’en Bossa, you might fancy something a little more relaxing.
And here's something worth knowing.
You don't need to leave The Ibiza Twiins to enjoy a professional massage or beauty treatment.
Massage Beach Ibiza provides treatments directly at the hotel from our dedicated shaded poolside treatment cabana.
We've been providing massage and beauty services across Ibiza since 2006 and have worked at The Ibiza Twiins for many seasons.
Our therapists offer a range of treatments, including relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, back, neck and shoulder massage, facials, manicures and pedicures.
Selected treatments for children are also available.
Why Book a Massage at The Ibiza Twiins?
The biggest advantage is convenience.
You can enjoy your morning beside the pool, have a professional treatment and then carry on with your holiday.
There's no need to arrange transport or spend part of your day travelling to another location.
It's particularly welcome after a long flight, a day walking around Dalt Vila or several hours dancing.
And you don't need to wait until you're already at the hotel to arrange your appointment.
You can browse the treatment menu, check prices and see available appointments online before travelling.

Looking for a Spa Near The Ibiza Twiins?
If you'd prefer a complete indoor spa experience, there's another option right next door.
Sirenis Vital Spa is located beside The Ibiza Twiins, and Massage Beach Ibiza operates its Beauty Centre within the spa.
Unlike our outdoor poolside treatment area, Vital Spa provides an indoor wellness environment where you can combine a professional treatment with time enjoying the spa facilities.
Depending on availability, facilities include indoor pools, a jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and relaxation areas.
Is Spa Access Included with a Massage?
Yes.
When you book a Massage Beach treatment at Sirenis Vital Spa, access to the spa facilities is included.
You don't need to be staying at a Sirenis hotel to book a treatment with us.
It's a lovely option if you'd like to turn your massage into a longer relaxation experience, or if the weather isn't suitable for spending the day beside the pool.
At The Ibiza Twiins, we'd choose the poolside treatment when we want something convenient without leaving the hotel.
At Vital Spa, we'd choose the indoor experience when we want to enjoy the spa facilities as well.

A Useful Tip Before Visiting Ibiza's Beaches
Here's one of the apps we actually use ourselves.
Medusas Ibiza provides information about jellyfish sightings around Ibiza and Formentera.
It's worth checking before heading to the beach, particularly if you're planning to swim somewhere away from your hotel.
The app includes reports from other users, although conditions can change and sightings aren't guaranteed.
It's a small thing, but genuinely useful.

Our Suggested Three-Day Itinerary from The Ibiza Twiins
If you'd prefer a simple plan rather than a long list of recommendations, here's how we'd spend three days.
Day One: Relax, Recharge and Enjoy the Hotel
You're on holiday, so why not dedicate your first day to doing absolutely nothing?
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, find yourself a comfortable sun lounger and spend the day relaxing beside the pool.
Treat yourself to a professional massage, a refreshing facial or a manicure and pedicure with Massage Beach Ibiza. It's the perfect opportunity to unwind, recharge your batteries and get yourself into holiday mode. View our treatment menu and book your appointment at The Ibiza Twiins.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch, order a cocktail and make the most of everything the hotel has to offer.
No rushing, no schedules. Just a proper day of relaxation.
Day Two: Explore Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town
Start your morning with a swim, followed by a walk along Playa d’en Bossa. Explore the area around the hotel and perhaps stop at Alma Café for coffee and something sweet.
Spend the afternoon enjoying the beach before heading into Ibiza Town at around 5 pm.
Take the boat if the timetable allows, explore the harbour and wander through the historic streets of Dalt Vila.
Walk to the top for the beautiful views, stop for a drink as the evening atmosphere comes alive, then enjoy tapas at La Bodega or dinner at La Oliva.
Day Three: Ses Salines Beach
Head to Ses Salines for a proper beach day.
Enjoy swimming and relaxing, followed by lunch at Jockey Club or Sa Trinxa.
Look out for flamingos around the salt flats on your way back.
Then return to The Ibiza Twiins for a relaxed evening.
If you're staying longer, we'd add Formentera, Marina Botafoch, Talamanca or an evening in Santa Gertrudis.
